Swimming Bunnies

Posted by Melody in Just fer fun

I have this weird rabbit-phobia. It mostly applies to animated rabbits, such as cartoon bunnies, rabbit costumes, and stuffed animals. The phobia stems from an MTV special I saw years ago about people’s fetishes where they dress up in animal costumes to do the nasty-nasty. I think they’re called Furries or Furbies– oh wait, I think the latter is some children’s toy. Whatever. But, it was a rabbit costume that has forever made me believe that BUNNIES ARE BAD

So, it was with some trepidation that I dared to view this rabbit commercial that a coworker shared with me today. The commercial shows real bunnies, so it’s not so bad (real ones are ok, but only if they’re white; brown bunnies are borderline). I watched it. I laughed. And then I thought, “Those suckers can swim?!”

I used to have a couple rabbits feet when I was a young-un. Can you even get them anymore? Or did PETA put that out of commission? Wait, just found some on ebay search: “rabbit foot natural” http://tinyurl.com/36tlhg
These are a bit odd come to think of it, the book ‘Of Mice and Men’ comes to mind, with Lenny keeping the dead mouse in his pocket. Noice!

yeah… fairly gross to think that we carried those around when we were kids. i can remember stroking my cheek with a rabbit’s foot – because it was so soft. now-a-days i definitely think twice before rubbing an amputated animal appendage on my face.
