Bombo Stool

Got another adition to the new place last week. The Bombo Stools by Magis! I got them from my sisters Italian house goods “showroom” Disegno Italiano. These stools are soo cool, nice clean design, and surprising comfortable for not having any cushion. I guess it could be uncomfortable with some who may have a prominent Apple Bottom or seasonal Pumpkin Bottom. Then again, maybe it would be perfect. If you’d like to find out for yourself, come on over to the loft *ahem* new apt and take a seat. Bombo Stool. Mikey Loves Bombo!

CA Boom 4

Posted by Mikey in Mikey Moments

CA Boom 4 was this weekend! It was a cool little modern/contemporary design show at the Barker Hanger in the Santa Monica Airport. After a nice drive up the 405 I met Dave and PA at the event. Registering at the computers was very comdex like, reminds me of self checkout at the grocery store, sometimes I’d rather have someone else enter in all that info. Anyways, we gave the cashier our 20 bucks and ventured inside. The show was small in area but full of interesting eyecandy. The exhibits ranged from furniture designers, furniture distributors, architectural firms, building materials, appliances and other home goods. It was not unlike the modernism show help in Palm Springs each year, I think some of the exhibitors were the same as well.

Korean food from Tofu House in Irvine

Kim Chi Soup!

Just got back from dinner with Mark at Tofu House in Irvine. Its a good little Korean food restaurant off Jeffery and Walnut, if you’re ever in the area craving some Kim Chi Chi-gae (sp?) this is the place to do it. Although a little pricey, as many OC K food is, the quantity and quality of food its well worth it. The variety of small amuse bouche dishes, which also act as palate cleansers, are there for the taking. I have no idea what most of it was, but the little fried fish was tasty. Bi Bim Bap well seasoned, Bul Go Gi fresh, and the Kimchi soup was sizzling and spicy. All this food accompanied with good convo of SB and some previously unknown mutual friends was memorable. *burp* Thats a compliment in some cultures

Tomorrow is Beer Friday, so see ya’ll at happy hour or shortly after!

Mcfly – Transylvania

(This audio plug-in is neat but it reminds me of myspace…so I won’t have it autostart. Click the triangle to play.)
Give the song a listen… get over the beginning. I know its a little much but I like how the words aren’t happy but the beat is…. hahaha)

I’m patiently waiting to use the family ‘hauler’ to do an Ikea run. Got my eye on the skinny Lack shelving unit in dark brown/black, and some Ikea PS cabinets which look like high school lockers. Also waiting for the stools I ordered from my sisters company to arrive. Sitting at my desk on the “Gunnar Peterson’s Core Workout Ball” is getting annoying, so a chair is in order as well. No, I won’t take a pic of me sitting on the ball!

I was considering building an archive page of old podcasts; since I nuked the SQL database running behind the old site I’d have to start from scratch. I don’t really think its worth the hassle, additionally I’m saving myself from any copyright infringements that previously may have accidentally occurred… Bah!
